Barcelona are in talks with De Jong over a new contract

"Barcelona" has started negotiations on a new contract with midfielder Frankie de Jong, journalist Nicolo Skira wrote on the social network. The Catalan club offered the player of the Netherlands national team to extend the contract until the summer of 2028.

De Jong's current contract runs until the summer of 2026.

It was previously reported that De Jong would be offered a pay cut, which currently stands at €37 million a year.

In the current season, De Jong played 25 matches in all competitions and scored one goal.
