The mother of Russian oppositionist Alexei Navalny claims that she was shown her son's body. Navalni's mother stated this in a video address .

"I recently left the building of the Investigative Committee of the city of Salekhard. I spent almost a day and a night there with investigators and forensics. They were allowed to have a lawyer only today, after dinner. Yesterday evening they secretly took me to the morgue, where they showed me Alexei. Investigators claim they know the cause of death, they have all the medical and legal documents ready that I have seen, and I signed the medical certificate of death. According to the law, they should have handed over Alexei's body immediately, but they haven't done it yet," said Lyudmila Navalnaya.

According to him, they are threatening, blackmailing and setting conditions on when and how Navalni's funeral ceremony should be held.

“They want it done in secret, without saying goodbye. They want to take me to the cemetery, to the new grave, and tell me - this is where your son lies. I don't agree with that," said Navalni's mother.
