Ursula von der Leyen - the fight for the airport "Hostomel" will no longer be remembered as the darkest moment, but as the beginning of a new era for Ukraine and Europe

We will no longer remember the battle for the "Hostomel" airport as the darkest moment in our history, but as the beginning of a new era for Ukraine and the whole of Europe, said the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, during the memorial ceremony on the second anniversary of the start of the war by Russia in Ukraine .

"We are here to tell you that Europe will help you before you need it. There will be financial support, more ammunition, more training for soldiers, more air defense and more investment in the European and Ukrainian defense industry. "There is no better place to confirm our commitment to Ukraine than this airport," Von der Leyen said.

In connection with the second anniversary of the beginning of the war, the Prime Ministers of Canada, Belgium and Italy arrived in Kyiv to support Ukraine . Today, the Prime Minister of Italy Giorgia Meloni plans to organize a video conference of the leaders of the "Big Seven", in which the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will also participate.
