Analena Berbock - Germany and Poland want to strengthen cooperation through 'Weimar Triangle' A strong Europe needs deep trust between Warsaw and Berlin

Germany and Poland want to strengthen cooperation through the "Weimar Triangle", German Foreign Minister Analena Berbock said at a press conference in Berlin together with his Polish counterpart, Radoslaw Sikorski.

"A strong Europe, whose center will continue to move towards the East in the coming years, needs more German-Polish friendship, deep trust between Warsaw and Berlin. Today we all realize that the security of Poland, the security of the Baltic countries is our security, everyone's security. We protect this security together as allies in NATO", said Analena Burbok.

At the same time, both sides emphasized the need for cooperation to support Ukraine.

"It is important for me to maintain constructive cooperation within the European family and NATO. In Poland we definitely feel more threatened because Russia is only 250 kilometers from Warsaw, but here in Berlin we are also close to the Iskander missile, which has a range of 500 kilometers. The war in Ukraine made it clear that the "Weimar Triangle" can be an important forum for cooperation and a source of good ideas for the future of the European Union," said Radoslav Sikorski.

As the Polish Foreign Minister noted, Poland will continue to be a hub for transportation, military aid and the center of Ukraine's recovery, but first the war must end.
